São Bento Monastery: With more than 400 years of history, the São Bento (Saint Benedict) Monastery has been the main destination for monks coming to São Paulo since its inauguration.

From its founding until the present day, the building has been through five refurbishments. The Gregorian chants that occurs on Sundays is the main event of this famous church.

The Monastery is currently home to 40 cloistered monks and was chosen by Pope Benedict XVI for his stay during his first official visit to Brazil.
